A Precis of Israeli Violations in the period

'The year 2008 is considered as the bloodiest. At the end of 2008, Israel has launched a wide genocide war against the Palestinian Gazans; due to that hundreds are killed, thousands are injured, and hundreds of the Palestinian houses, mosques, institutions and health care centers are demolished. Israel has been violating the International humanitarian law and committing war crimes.

'Israel is using Dense Inert Metal Explosives (DIME), depleted uranium weapons, bombs with cluster ammunition and phosphorous bombs; hundreds of innocent palestinian citizens are killed by these weapons, the majority of them are women, children and worshipers. Israel has employed it's [sic] full-fledged arsenal to attack Palestinian populated areas, ambulances, medics, universities, mosques, and schools.'

A Precis of Israeli Violations in the period
(January 2008 . Jan. 12th, 2009)

The year 2008 is considered as the bloodiest.

Israel is using Dense Inert Metal Explosives (DIME), depleted uranium weapons, bombs with cluster ammunition and phosphorous bombs; hundreds of innocent palestinian citizens are killed by these weapons, the majority of them are women, children and worshipers. Israel has employed it's full-fledged arsenal to attack Palestinian populated areas, ambulances, medics, universities, mosques, and schools.

1-Gaza under Fire

Israel has continued to close all border crossings to Gaza Strip for more than two years. The Israeli siege of Gaza, has had a disastrous impact on the humanitarian and economic situation in Gaza Strip. 1.5 million people are being denied their basic rights, including freedom of movement, and their rights to appropriate living conditions, work, health and education. An Israeli genocide war against the Palestinian Gazans has followed the siege causing causalities among the Palestinian civilians and properties:

1446 Palestinian citizens were killed; 360 children, 120 women, 5 journalists,12 paramedics and a doctor, were among the victims.

- The IOF bombarded 53 Palestinian mosques, 13 of which were totally damaged, hundreds of Palestinian houses, many schools, universities, charitable institutions, sports clubs, first aid clinics, and emergency centers.

-280 Palestinian patients, that were denied permissions to cross the Gaza borders for further treatment abroad, have passed away.

-(75%) of the bakeries in Gaza Strip have been closed due to the lack of electricity supplies and cooking gas.

-Because of the Israeli cut off of fuel and electricity, the wastewater treatment plants has stopped; the sewage has begun to spill into the streets causing the threaten of spread dangerous infectious diseases and pollution of drinking water.

-Living conditions (70%) of the Palestinian civilian population have seriously deteriorated; levels of poverty and unemployment have sharply mounted.

-At least 900 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails have been deprived of family visitation for more than 16 months.

2-The Judaization of Jerusalem:

During 2008, the Israeli government invited bids to construct 20,000 new settling houses inside and around the Occupied Jerusalem, 4,000 units of which were already built. 1500 dunums (1 Acer = 4 dunums) of Palestinian lands were confiscated to construct sections of the Apartheid Segregation Wall (ASW), and 65 Palestinian Jerusalemite houses were demolished, under the excuse that the houses were built without obtaining the Israeli Building license.

The plans to expand the women yard in Al-Buraq Wall (Wailing Wall) were done; the excavations under Al-Aqsa mosque never stopped. The Islamic tombs in Ma.man Allah cemetery were swept away by the Israeli authorities, in order to construct a museum instead.

Israel has begun to count the Jerusalemites Palestinians that live inside and outside the borders of the Apartheid Segregation Wall; a step towards confiscating the Jerusalemites' I.D., expelling them outside the city and severely threatening their existence in the Occupied Jerusalem.

3- Willful Killings & Wounds:

During the period (January 2008- Jan. 12th, 2009), 1446 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli troops, including 360 children, 120 women, 5 journalists, 2 disabled persons, 12 paramedics and 2 prisoners.

About 6,000 Palestinian citizens were wounded, including 45 International Solidarity Activists, 1800 child and 500 women.

4- The Palestinian Prisoners:

During 2008, 5500 Palestinian citizens had been detained, including 200 Palestinian Gazans. The total number of the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli Jails is about 9,000, including 265 child (under 18 years old), 75 women, and 691 administrative prisoners, who are being detained without any trial.

5- Houses Demolition:

400 Palestinian houses were demolished; half of the houses were demolished during the Israeli incursions against Gaza strip.

6- Israeli Checkpoints:

IOF have continued to impose severe restrictions on the movement of Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem. 633 Israeli checkpoints have been hindering the daily movement of more than 2 million Palestinian citizens.

7- Settling:

8,000 dunums of Palestinian lands were confiscated, another 5,000 dunums were razed, and 8000 fruitful trees were uprooted, to construct sections of the ASW.

Under the protection of the IOF, the Israeli extremists Jew escalated their organized attacks against the Palestinian citizens and property in the cities of Nablus, Hebron and Ramallah.

8- Palestinian Journalists Preferred Targets For Israel:

Israel has killed the Palestinian journalists Hassan Shakoura, Fadil Shana.ah, Basil Faraj, Ala. Murtaja and Ihab El-Wuheidi, during its military incursions; it seems that the Palestinian journalists are preferred targets for Israel.

Many Palestinian press agencies were either closed or corrupted by the IOF; many press agencies in Hebron and Jenin cities were closed, while other agencies were destroyed by the IOF shelling in Gaza Strip.
