Hebrew University – Amiel Vardi (Dept of Arts) still breaking the law

As soon as the activists arrived and as usual, the Israeli occupation army showed up and declared part of the land -on the spot, right there and then, and in your face- military zone in order to prevent the little harvest, that is, if the settlers don't stop and attack the Palestinian farmers because of the presence of humanitarian workers and cameras, the occupation army will. … Humanitarian activist Amiel Vardi was also arrested after running to the zone in protest of Ezra's arrest under fake pretenses.

Activists Ezra Nawi and Amiel Vardi Arrested at the olive harvest- Ezra could face a prison sentence

Monday, November 1, 2010

The activist's purpose was to help a Palestinian Family pick the olives from their land which lies opposite the fence of the illegal settlement on the other side of the road. The Palestinian Families face harassment from settlers whenever they attempt to access the land close to settlements (part of a well known plan to continually expand the settlements with the open cooperation of the occupation army.)

An old Palestinian woman farmer entered this closed military zone - her land, mind you - to pee, as the text explains in Hebrew, the Soldiers ran after her scolding her harshly for entering. When Ezra Nawi called on them to behave, the soldiers who do not speak Arabic, told him to explain to her that entry is prohibited. Ezra went to translate to her what the soldiers were saying. More Soldiers swarmed all over him and cuffed and arrested him for entering the -fake -military zone. Humanitarian activist Amiel Vardi was also arrested after running to the zone in protest of Ezra's arrest under fake pretenses.

Ezra Nawi is under a six-month probation sentence and could face a 3 year prison sentence.
