Under a cloud of great secrecy, Head of the Islamic Movement's northern branch Sheikh Raed Salah, took part in a convention held at Tel Aviv University on Monday.

"We have the right to pray in al-Aqsa Mosque," said Salah during the convention discussing the Arab sector's history. He was cheered on by the audience, composed of only Arab students.

"We must stand besides Jerusalem and the al-Aqsa Mosque and object to the Israel's occupation policy," he added.

The Sheikh was arrested in February for allegedly damaging and setting fire to a Eucalyptus forest in Southern Israel. Prior to that he was released from the Ayalon Prison in Ramla last December after spending five months behind bars for attacking a policeman.

In 2010, Salah was also arrested after taking part in the calamitous aid flotilla to Gaza.

Salah mentioned June's Gaza-bound flotilla, claiming: "There are over a million Turks that are ready for it and want to participate."

As for the latest speech given by the United States President Barack Obama, Salah sent a clear message: "Obama demands to establish a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, while these borders are changeable. What does this mean? Deportation. It means that some of us will be deported," he concluded.
